NATCHEZ, Ms., (KNOE 8 News) - Three people have been charged in the Jan. 3 fatal shooting of a liquor store employee in Natchez.
Police Lt. Craig Godbold says James H. Anderson Jr. and Kenneth J. Carver Jr. and a 17-year-old juvenile have been charged with armed robbery and murder. They are being held pending an initial court appearance.
Godbold says 49-year-old Tyrone Bernard was shot death while he was closing up DD's Package Store. Police say when Bernard came outside, the suspects rushed him and attempted to rob him.
Bernard died of a single gunshot wound. Godbold says police are still working to identify which of the suspects actually shot Bernard, noting that the investigation is continuing.
