MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - DISH has announced it has an immediate need to hire more people for the Northern Louisiana territory…more than 50 people.
CEO Roddy McKinney said, "This rapid increase in customers means we have to move faster than ever before in our hiring. So over the next few months we expect to add at least 50 people to train for Satellite TV Technician careers."
McKinny went on to say, "These are not temporary jobs. These are full-time, long-term career opportunities that pay well and have excellent benefits. We do have a very selective hiring process, but that's because we make a considerable financial investment in each person we hire. We provide paid training, uniforms, tools, equipment and a company vehicle."
According to McKinney, "No previous experience is required for these positions. However, a key success factor for us over the last 19 years has always been in hiring people who are comfortable with face-to-face customer interaction. It's also important that they have worked in environments performing physically demanding work requiring some mechanical or electrical skills. These types of individuals are generally the most successful."
Satellites Unlimited Inc., DISH's parent company, has its corporate headquarters at 138 Citation Court in Birmingham with 14 branch offices in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and North Florida. Technicians live throughout the territory and can even live outside of the territory, as long as it is within a 90 mile radius of the office.
