NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Officials from the Superdome's management company and a utility company are preparing to discuss Sunday's Super Bowl power outage with New Orleans City Council members.

The council is the regulatory agency for Entergy New Orleans. Member Cynthia Hedge-Morrell, the chairwoman of Its utility committee, set a hearing on the outage for Friday morning.

Hedge-Morrell says she set the meeting for late-week to give Entergy time to gather and analyze data.

Superdome and Entergy officials have said the 34-minute outage happened when sensing equipment in the area where Entergy and Superdome equipment intersect detected some sort of anomaly, causing a breaker to open and cut power to half the stadium.

The companies plan to hire an outside expert to determine the source of the anomaly, which hasn't been described in detail.
