MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Monroe police have now released additional information on the body found near the Monroe airport earlier this week.

A vehicle suspected of being involved in the homicide was recovered by Monroe Police in Richland Parish near the Bee Bayou exit. This vehicle has been in police custody while undergoing crime scene processing. The vehicle is a maroon four-door Ford Crown Victoria. The owner of the vehicle, along with other persons of interest in this investigation are currently being interviewed by Monroe Police Detectives.

The victim was identified this week by Monroe Police as a black male, Clinton Pratt, age 28. Pratt lived at the Lakeshore Villa Apartment, located 2 and a half miles from where his body was found.

Police noted that the area where Pratt's body was found is not a frequently traveled road, adding that the area is part of the security zone that butts up directly to the Monroe Regional Airport, and doesn't have a lot of through traffic.

The early investigation shows Pratt died of a gun shot wound, but police still don't know if this occurred where the body was found or not.

Crimestoppers and Monroe Police continue to receive tips in regards to this case. Further details will be released as they become available in this ongoing police investigation.
