LAKE PROVIDENCE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - East Carroll Parish citizens will get a boost of safety today when the parish will be back online with an enhanced 911 system.
Residents have been without the service for a year.
Also this morning, the East Carroll Detention Center will reopen.
The facility, which was privately owned, was closed and given back to the sheriff's department in September of last year. That was following a shakedown in August 2012 where contraband was found.
