SOLOMON ISLANDS (KNOE 8 News) - Six people are dead and several villages are damaged after a tsunami hit the Solomon Islands. The tsunami was triggered by an 8.0 magnitude earthquake southeast of the country in the Pacific Ocean.
Tsunami watches were given to several islands including the north coast of Australia, New Zealand, and the state of Hawaii. All watches were subsequently lifted.
