Student brings gun into Alexandria elementary school

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A student at Horseshoe Drive Elementary School in Alexandria was taken into custody after showing off a gun during school.
Police were contacted by the elementary's school resource office information about a firearm on campus. Several students told teachers another student started showing off a 22 revolver.
The student was taken into custody and the weapon was recovered. The weapon was not loaded and no ammunition was found.
The Rapides Sheriff's juvenile detectives are continuing their investigation
