MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - While Louisiana's gas prices jumped 12 cents this past week, it was worse in Arkansas' where they climbed 17 cents in the past week. The average price for a gallon of regular fuel is $3.34. Gas is most expensive in the Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers area, where the average price is $3.37 a gallon.
In Little Rock, several votes are scheduled in the state house of representatives. The Arkansas House is set to vote today on new abortion restrictions. One measure would ban abortions at the 20th week of a pregnancy. A separate bill would ban the procedure from being covered in a new insurance exchange.
Lawmakers are also set to vote today on a plan to allow people to carry concealed handguns in churches and other houses of worship. The legislation already passed the state Senate.
