MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - In Meridian, The body of a man who drowned two weeks ago in the Chunky River has been found. The executive director of Lauderdale County Emergency Management Agency says members of 56-year-old Marcus Smith's family found his body about 10:15 Saturday morning. He had been in a canoe with two other men when it overturned. The two others survived.

In Aberdeen, the sentencing date has been set for a man convicted of participating in the March 2011 arson at Lindley's Antiques Mall in Oakland. James Flemons is scheduled for sentencing Feb. 27 in federal court in Aberdeen.

In Natchez on Tuesday, Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant will be in town as part of an economic announcement. Bryant will be joined by state and local officials and representatives from von Drehle Corp. of Hickory, N.C., which recently bought the former Mississippi River Pulp property.

Oxford lies in the middle of a deadly tornado zone. And Gov. Phil Bryant has declared this week Severe Weather Preparedness Week statewide.
