WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Dozens of furry friends went through West Monroe's Antique Alley today for a Mardi Gras Pet Parade.
Dogs, cats, horses, and even a goat were featured in this year's parade pf pets. The animals got dressed up for a best costume competition. Several dogs were cleverly dressed as the cast of "Duck Dynasty," while a large Great Dane was dressed as a cow.
The parade had royalty and it's King, Grayson, is an 11-year-old dachshund rescue.
"For ten years he lived in a puppy mill, and one year ago, we had gotten him out, and on his one year anniversary he was selected as king," says his owner, Kim Hembree, "a lot of these dogs are adopted, PAWS does a really good job of spreading the word making sure these dogs find better homes."
