MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The Louisiana Supreme Court has suspended 7th Judicial District Court Judge Leo Booth.

Booth was suspended for one year without pay over allegations that his decision to reduce a man's prison sentence was based on personal and political motivations.

The supreme court ordered Booth to pay nearly 12 thousand dollars in fines. Booth was first elected as judge for Catahoula and Concordia Parishes in 1991.
