Exercise patience in getting your state tax return

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - You can start filing your state tax returns, but the Louisiana Revenue Department says the earliest tax filers won't get their refunds for nearly another month.

New computer software designed to stop fraudulent e-filing is being rolled out. And, the first returns won't be processed until February 15th. Refunds won't be issued until a week and a half later. 82% of Louisiana taxpayers e-filed their 2011.
