Pecanland frontage extension project to officially get underway

MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Mayor Jamie Mayo has announced the ground breaking ceremonies for the Pecanland Drive I-20 (North) Frontage Road Extension project.
The extension project will begin from Sparks Nissan-Kia and extend to Millhaven Road (LA 594). This project has been designed in cooperation with a LADOTD Priority Safety Project along Millhaven Road (to begin in the near future), that includes an east bound turn lane to the Martin Luther King, Jr. service road, signalized intersections for protected traffic movement, and improved rail crossing safety devices.
The estimated cost of the project is expected to be $692,792, which is being paid for by the I-20 Economic Development District)
Actual construction is slated to start around February 11th, and is expected to take some 210 working days.
