LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - An Arkansas Senate panel is set to hear testimony today from death penalty supporters and opponents. Lawmakers are trying to come up with a new lethal injection law to replace the one that was struck down by the state's highest court.

The National Weather Service will be in the Monticello area today to survey damage from yesterday's storms. Authorities want to know if a tornado touched down. The storm downed trees and power lines and caused some structural damage.

A Searcy businessman is loaning the city $230,000 for airport improvements as city leaders wait for grant funding. The city needed to spend $230,000 on the project before becoming eligible for matching grant money. The airport terminal is expected to be completed by April.

A Sherwood business that makes cabinetry for private jets is adding 150 new jobs as it expands. Custom Aircraft Cabinets spent $6 million on its new facility. It expects to have more than 290 employees within two years.
