MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Shortly before midnight on Tuesday the 29th, Monroe Police were sent to the 1800 block of MLK Drive in Monroe, where they found the body of a black female.
The woman had apparently been the victim of a hit and run. AMR and MFD also responded to the scene and AMR transported the victim to a local hospital.
Monroe Police Traffic Division and Crime Scene Unit are investigating this incident. Two citizens who found the victim were interviewed, however there were no witnesses to the crash. At this time, no suspect or vehicle information is known. The victim's name is not being released at this time pending notification of relatives.
