COLUMBIA, La. (KNOE 8 News) - An audit looking into the Caldwell Parish Sheriffs Office was released this week.
Auditors found the department had some problems within the accounting department during 2011 and 2012.
Auditors say the sheriff doesn't have enough separation of functions in that department and a properly qualified staffer is needed to record financial transactions. The sheriffs department has responded, saying it will consider outsourcing their finance work in the future.
