Vicksburg river stack-up continues

Posted: Updated:

VICKSBURG, Ms., (KNOE 8 News) - The Coast Guard says nearly four dozen vessels are stacked up on the Mississippi River near Vicksburg.

The vessels have been stopped to await clearance.

The backup is to allow crews to keep working to clean up the oil spill from a damaged barge.

The barge, carrying 80,000 of oil, hit a railroad bridge at Vicksburg this past weekend, and is still leaking oil. Workers are currently using skimmers to clean up the oil.
