MONROE, LA. (KNOE 8 News) - Local leaders are taking the issues that they believe are the most pertinent to the City of Monroe all the way to the nation's capital in Washington, D.C.
Monroe District 1 City Councilman Ray Armstrong, Monroe Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Sue Nicholson, and Chairman of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, David Hampton, all boarded a 6:00 a.m. flight on Tuesday bound for the U.S. capital.
They said they'll be meeting with senators, representatives and lobbyists about the issues currently facing Monroe, including projects like sewer improvements and other projects still on their board. They said they'll also be talking about the funding for those projects and how to prioritize each of them.
