MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The visitation for the McMurry kids will be held at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe Thursday, Jan. 24th, from 5p-8p.

The Monroe Civic Center is asking the public for donations for one of its employees, whose two daughters were killed in a house fire in West Monroe this week.

The fire on Monday claimed the lives of 16-month-old Emma McMurry and three-year-old Gwyndolyn McMurry.

The little girls leave behind their mother, an older brother and their father, Morgan McMurry, who was burned trying to rescue them.

The family also lost their home and belongings in the fire.  They are in need of clothes, shoes and other items.

If you would like to make a donation, you can contact Katrina Chilton at the Civic Center at (318) 329-3312 or (318) 329-2225.  Monetary donations can be made at the Chase Bank branch at the corner of North 7th and Cypress Street in West Monroe under the name Susan McMurry.
