Oliver North Apartments robbery

MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Monroe police responded to a robbery call at the Oliver North Apartments in Monroe.

The victim told police he had pulled into the complex to ask for directions when a black male with a gun approached him and demanded money.

According to police, the suspect took an undetermined amount of cash and drove off in a vehicle.

Based on the victim's description, police say they quickly located the suspect by a patrolman in South Monroe.

Monroe Police Detectives say they've arrested a 37 year old man, Deraryll J. Cole, in connection with the robbery.

Cole has been booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on one count of Armed Robbery, one count of Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and also for being in possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
