MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Some furry friends are needing a home for the New Year. The PAWS group is back with their monthly off-site adoption. Saturday, they were showing off 10 dogs and one cat. A volunteer says one of the dogs was adopted in just 30 minutes after setting up. Workers are hoping many of the animals can have fun during our local Mardi Gras celebrations next month.
"It's a lot of fun, it's a family event," Director Jo Traylor said. "We encourage people to come out bring your families, dress up, dress up your animals, make a float and it's not too late to enter the contest."
You can check out the animals up for adoption at the end of each month at PETCO in Monroe.
The pet parade for Mardi Gras is set for February 2nd at 1:30 P.M. at Antique Alley in West Monroe.
