GRAMBLING, La. (KNOE 8 News) - 200 Grambling State University students are on their way to the nation's capital city. They took a 20 hour ride to get there starting Saturday.
The famed Tiger Marching Band is getting ready to play in the presidential inaugural parade.
Our local school is the only Historically Black College and University to do so this year.
One drum major is honored with getting the chance to play for the president and millions of Americans.
"It's an honor and to be consecutively selected," Prince gray said. "It's an even bigger honor. It says a lot about us. It says a lot about our program, our organization. Dr. Pannell did a great job getting us ready for this."
The band is pretty familiar with the national stage. They played in two other inaugural parades, once for President Obama, the other for President George Walker Bush.
