MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The Monroe Police Department is currently investigating a reported assault of an ULM student.
This past Friday according to the police report, an unidentified black male, claiming to have a gun, approached the black female victim on Northeast Drive.
Police say the suspect directed the female, on foot, to a location off campus where she was assaulted, then returned to campus, on foot, and was later taken to the hospital.
The suspect is described as being a black male having a medium complexion with a tattoo on the right side of his neck, as well as, on his hand. He is further described as being approximately 5'10" inches tall, medium build, and having puffy bags under his eyes and large lips. The suspect was said to be wearing a dirty green jacket.

Monroe and ULM police departments are looking into an alleged abduction and off-campus assault of a student.
School leaders say it all happened Friday outside Hemphill Hall.
The Vice President for Student Affairs says the student was returned to campus and transported to the hospital.
According to school officials, the accused abductor is described as a black man who is about 6 feet tall. They say he has a medium build and short hair. School leaders say the suspect was last seen wearing a "greenish brown" hoodie with dark denim jeans and lace-up brown shoes. According to a news release from the school, the man may be in his mid 20's with tattoos on his right hand and the right side of his neck. Also, the alleged abductor may have discoloration under his eyes, according to school officials.
ULM students and staff are asked to call university police at (318) 342-5350 if they see anyone fitting this description.
