MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - An elderly Mississippi man is dead following a two vehicle crash on Interstate 20 in Madison Parish.
Early Friday morning, troopers responded to a two vehicle crash on Interstate 20 about 15 miles east of Tallulah. The investigation shows an SUV, driven by 84-year-old Glenn Fleming of Brandon, Mississippi, was traveling west on Interstate 20 in the right lane. That's when a 18-wheeler, driven by 22-year-old Crystal Holliday of Sumter, South Carolina, traveled into the path of the SUV by entering the right lane from the shoulder. The SUV struck the rear of the 18-wheeler.
Fleming was pronounced dead at the scene by the Madison Parish Coroner's Office. Holliday did not report any injuries. Both drivers were wearing their seat belt.
Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash. Toxicology samples were obtained will be submitted for analysis. Holliday was cited and the crash remains under investigation.
