UNION PARISH, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A Union Parish Detention Center guard is facing charges for using her cell phone to share information with current and former jail inmates.
On January 2, 2013, the Union Parish Detention Center contacted the Union Parish Sheriff's Office and requested that an investigation be conducted concerning a detention center guard providing inmates with contraband.

Over the past several months, Hill had been taking a cell phone inside the detention center and using it while on duty. Hill was also using the cell phone to relay messages from current inmates to the former inmate.
On January 10, 2013, warrants were issued for the arrest of Hill for the offenses of introduction of contraband into a penal institution and malfeasance in office with a total bond of $3500.00.
On January 14, 2013, Hill turned herself in to the Union Parish Sheriff's Office and was booked at the Union Parish Detention Center. She has posted bond and be released from the detention center.
