MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Closures for Wednesday, January 16. These are the school closings KNOE 8 News has received thus far:

Reminder on delayed openings:

  • Monroe Transit resumed services Wednesday morning at 9am.
  • Career Technical College (Monroe Campus) opened at 10am Wednesday.
  • Ouachita Parish Courthouse, and Morehouse Parish Courthouse and 4th District will be closed Wednesday until 12:00 Noon; Court resumes at 1:30pm.

Parishes:

  • Lincoln Parish schools will be closed Wednesday
  • Jackson Parish schools will be closed Wednesday.
  • Caldwell Parish schools will be closed Wednesday.
  • Union Parish schools will be closed Wednesday.
  • Ouachita Parish Schools will be closed Wednesday.
  • Madison Parish Schools will be closed Wednesday.
  • West Carroll Parish Schools will be closed Wednesday.
  • East Carroll Parish Schools will be closed Wednesday.
  • Franklin Parish Schools will be closed Wednesday.
  • Richland Parish Schools will be closed Wednesday.
  • LaSalle Parish Schools will be closed Wednesday.
  • Morehouse Parish Schools will be closed Wednesday.

  • River Oaks will be closed Wednesday.
  • Union Christian Academy in Farmerville will be closed for Wednesday.
  • Grambling Lab Schools will be closed Wednesday.
  • Prairie View Academy in Bastrop is closed Wednesday.
  • Children's Garden PreSchool in West Monroe is closed Wednesday.
  • Northeast Baptist School will be closed Wednesday.
  • First Assembly Learning Center in West Monroe will be closed Wednesday.
  • Bayou Gymnastics PreSchool & After School will be closed Wednesday.
  • Monroe's OMCAP Headstart will be closed Wednesday.
  • New Vision Learning Academy will be closed Wednesday.
  • Learning Tech/Quest School and After School will be closed Wednesday.

  • 1st Baptist Wee Care in Oak Grove will be closed Wednesday.
  • Family Community Christian School and Daycare in Franklin Parish will be closed Wednesday.
  • Bethel Christian School and Daycare will be closed Wednesday.
  • Debbies Kiddie Garden Daycare in Monroe will be closed Wednesday.
  • Jana's First Step Child Care in Monroe will be closed Wednesday.
  • Wonderland Child Development Center will be closed Wednesday.
  • Just Around the Bend Child Care in Monroe will be closed Wednesday.

No other school closings have been reported at this time.

Colleges:
*Grambling University have NOT cancelled classes for Wednesday at this time.

  • All Louisiana Tech University campuses, including Tech-Barksdale will be closed Wednesday.
  • ULM has cancelled classes for Wednesday.
  • All Louisiana Delta Community College campuses will be closed Wednesday.
  • Career Technical College (Monroe Campus) will have a delayed opening. They will open at 10am Wednesday. 
  • Unitech Training Academy in West Monroe will be closed Wednesday.

Other Closings:

Ouachita and Morehouse 4th District Courts will reopen at 1:30pm today (Wednesday). 

  • All branches of the Ouachita Parish Public Library will be closed Wednesday.
  • Bayou Gymnastics will be closed Wednesday evening.
  • LaSalle Parish Workforce Investment Area Office
  • The N.E. La. Employer Forum at the Civic Center in Monroe, originally scheduled from 8:30am to 11am has been cancelled Wednesday.
  • The House of Raeford production shift will not work Tuesday night or the Wednesday day shift. Normal operations are expected to resume with the Wednesday night shift.
  • Two flights (from Atlanta and Houston, around 8:30pm) are still expected to arrive on time, however, all other flights in and out of Monroe have been cancelled tonight.
  • Ouachita Parish Courthouse, and Morehouse Parish Courthouse and 4th District will be closed Wednesday until 12:00 Noon; Court resumes at 1:30pm.
  • Tiger Rock Martial Arts Academy of West Monroe will be closed Wednesday.
  • LaSalle Parish Workforce Investment Area Office is closed Wednesday.
  • Grant Parish Workforce Investment Area Office is closed Wednesday.

Monroe Transit has announced that it will resume services Wednesday morning at 9am.

    Baton Rouge, La. (KNOE 8 News ATC) - Agents with the Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control recently conducted compliance checks at 173 businesses in the Monroe and West Monroe areas. During those compliance checks, 28 of the businesses, which consist of area restaurants, bars and convenience stores, were caught selling alcohol and tobacco products to minors.
