BASTROP, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A Bastrop High School student is facing charges for bringing a gun into the school Monday.

17-year-old Pearce Frazier is charged with illegally carrying a firearm on a school campus. A school resource officer received information yesterday that Frazier was carrying a weapon.

When Frazier was confronted, officers found a loaded magazine and a 45 caliber semi-automatic pistol.

Frazier is in the Morehouse Parish Jail awaiting a bond hearing. The sheriff says in interviews, Frazier did not express threats toward other students at the school.
