CALDWELL PARISH, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Sheriff's office can now send alert texts to cellphones.
The Caldwell Parish Sheriff's Office has announced it now has the ability to send text notifications to cellular devices.
A spokesman point out that the office has had the ability to send push notifications to smartphones now for some time, but now anyone with a cell phone can sign up for text messages.
The notifications, & messages sent will alert the public to road closures, severe weather, public safety, and other significant community events. This service is provided to the public free of charge in an effort to efficiently disseminate information to the public.
Anyone who would like to receive text messages from the CPSO can simply go to the sheriff's Facebook page, & click the link that directs them to the sign up form. Those with smartphones can go to their appropriate app market and download the CPSO app, & allow the CPSO to send them notifications. These services are simple to use, but if there are questions please feel free to contact the CPSO at 318-502-0123.
