FARMERVILLE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Union Parish is getting ready for its first parish-wide celebration commemorating the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Junior. It's all scheduled to happen Saturday at 9 in the morning starting at the courthouse in Farmerville.The event's theme is "Living his legacy through me". High school marching bands are scheduled to be on hand along with several guest speakers, including the president of Grambling State University.
