MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News/ AP) - The younger brother of four-time Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards has died in Broussard, Louisiana.
Marion Edwards was a constant presence in the former governor's campaigns. He also served as co-defendant during the 1980's in a corruption trial.
Prosecutors referred to him a "bag man" during that trial. After being acquitted, He then walked into a bar on the French Quarter with a bag on his head.
Family members say Marion Edwards was a cancer survivor and often counseled other cancer patients.
