Free heart health programs for women

MONROE, LA. (KNOE 8 News) - The Ouachita Parish Public Library is teaming up with The American Heart Association and Go Red for Women to bring the women of Ouachita Parish a month-long series of free programs designed for education about heart health issues.

The programs feature different guest speakers featured at multiple branches of the library system for the rest of January and are open to the public.

Friday's program locations will be at:

10 a.m.- West Ouachita Branch, 188 Hwy 186 in West Monroe featuring Living Better with Life's Simple 7 speaker Christine Woods.

11 a.m.- Ouachita Valley Branch, 601 McMillan Rd. in West Monroe featuring Living Better with Life's Simple 7 speaker Patrick King.

All future program dates are as follows:

Jan. 14- 9:30 a.m., Louise Williams Branch, 140 Bayou Oaks Dr. in Monroe featuring Eating for a Heart Healthy Life speaker Christine Woods.

Jan. 15- 2 p.m., Main Library, 1800 Stubbs in Monroe featuring Living Better with Life's Simple 7 speaker Teresa Daniel.

Jan 24- 12:30 p.m., Sterlington Memorial Library, 305 Keystone in Monroe featuring Eating for a Heart Healthy Life speaker Jen Avis.
