Ag Expo comes to West Monroe this month

WEST MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - The Expo takes place Friday, Jan. 18 from 2 pm to 8 pm and Saturday 9 am to 4 pm at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center in West Monroe, LA.

The exhibition hall is expected to have 175 booths featuring tractors and farm implements, mowers, ATVs, seed and fertilizer products, technology, financial and insurance services, new gadgets, food samples and much more! Plus, LSU AgCenter's Ag Alley will be filled with interactive educational displays, mini-farm and information resources. Outside, there will be a working sawmill, and a tour of medical-evac helicopter that services rural areas and hunting camps and see more equipment.

All day Friday, the Southern Stock Dog Association will conduct stock dog trials. This competition features Border Collies herding cattle to the hand and voice commands of their handlers. Competition begins about 9 am and continues throughout the day until competitors are finished.

Friday Night beginning at 6 pm, The Junior Livestock Show will hold the Dairy and Swine Competition. Saturday, beginning at 9 am, cattle, goats and sheep will show throughout the day.

Saturday also features the return for the 3rd year of the American Miniature Zebu Association miniature cow show. Shows will be at 9 am and 2 pm., and they are available to see all day.

Tickets are available at the door. Admission is $7 for adults; children under 12 are free. Advance tickets are available for $5 each through Thursday, January 16th at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center, West Monroe, Louisiana Land Bank in Monroe and Irrigation-Mart in Ruston during their regular business hours.
