Sterlington Search Shifts Into Interview Phase

STERLINGTON, La (KNOE 8 Sports) - Sterlington's search for the Panthers new head football coach continues and 9 applicants will be interviewed for the position. Sterlington principal Dell Ashley tells KNOE 8 Sports Director Aaron Dietrich the interviews will take place over the next two weeks and hopes to have a decision by the time the school board meets on January 24th.

Ashley would not disclose the names of the applicants that will interview for the job, but KNOE 8 Sports has learned that several of the candidates have major ties to other NE Louisiana schools.

Sources tell us Ouachita offensive coordinator Larry Foster, Neville defensive coordinator Jason Thompson, former St. Frederick head coach Paul Guerriero, West Monroe quarterbacks coach Todd Garvin and West Ridge head coach/ athletic director Jeremy Many are all scheduled to interview for the job. Ashley says there were 56 applicants for the position and says "this thing is wide-open".
