CAMP MINDEN, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Work to safely store that M6 explosives at Camp Minden reportedly continued Wednesday morning.
Overnight, the report from the La. State Police, who are overseeing the operation, indicated that crews moved 57,440 pounds of product yesterday, which brings the total to around 6 million pounds of product moved. The report continued, "Operations have been running smooth and will resume (at daybreak)".
Since the initial figures given to us indicated that there were a total of 6 million pounds to be moved, we have asked the State Police spokesman if the operation shouldn't be just about finished at this point.
The reply was, "The operation is not over, they are still moving product. We will release the total amount of product moved at the end of the operation."
