OAK GROVE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Attendance reports are in from the Fiske Theater in Oak Grove, and more than 17 thousand went to the movies in 2012.
The total number of movie-goers for 2012 is a 17.5 percent increase in attendance from the previous year. This makes last year the most successful since 2009.
Fiske operator, Adam Holland, said 2012 "started off slow and scary," but picked up later in the year. He attributes the increase to the box office hits from last fall, and the debut of a newly renovated auditorium.
The Fiske Theater is the oldest, and last one-screen theater in North Louisiana. Management is optimistic about what 2013 will bring.
