MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A new Louisiana-based reality show will premiere next month starring Former Governor Edwin Edwards and his wife, Trina.
The Bayou State has taken over reality television with hit shows like Duck Dynasty and Swamp People, and another series is being added to that list.
"The Governor's Wife" is scheduled to premiere on A&E on February 27, at 10 PM. The series will follow the couple through the daily life and focus on their interesting family dynamic.
Trina, 34, will show viewers the difficulties she faces as she transitions from prison pen-pal to wife of the 85 year old ex-governor.
Author of Edwards' Biography, Leo Honeycutt, is excited for the opportunity for the couple, but skeptical about their private lives airing for the world to see.
"Reality series don't always go well, especially when it comes to the reputation of the players," says Honeycutt, "so that's my only real concern about it. I'm concerned for him, I'm concerned for Trina, and I'm concerned for the state."
