WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The city of West Monroe could find out who will fill in as interim police chief Wednesday.
Mayor Dave Norris says he's selected someone to fill the spot vacated by Police Chief Christopher Elg but won't release the name until he speaks with city council members.
The announcement of the interim chief could happen today. Elg, who has held the position since 2004, accepted a job as chief of police in Tequesta, Florida this week.
His last day with the department is Saturday. He will start his new job February 4th.
