WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - In a story we first reported earlier in December, the West Monroe police chief is leaving the twin cities. Chief Christopher Elg is taking a job in Florida.
Elg will begin his new job as police chief of Tequesta, Florida on February 4, 2013. That's in Palm Beach County.
The Ouachita Citizen reports that West Monroe's mayor has asked Elg to step down, by January 1, 3013.
Elg was also one of three finalists for the South Bend, Indiana police chief job.
