MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Lauren Vizza is scheduled to leave Monroe Tuesday morning. Everyone is invited to see Lauren off to Las Vegas on New Years Day!
The Miss America Pageant will be held at the Planet Hollywood Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV, January 8 – 12. Preliminary competition will be the 8th, 9th, 10th and the live televised finals will air on ABC at 7:00 pm Central time on January 12th.
Lauren's competition schedule is as follows:
Tuesday AM: Interview Tuesday PM: Swimsuit and Evening Gown Wednesday PM: Talent Thursday PM: On Stage Question Saturday: Live Televised Finals on ABC
Vizza, describes herself as "a complete sports fanatic who turned in her soccer cleats for high heels and a crown!" She is a Senior at Louisiana Tech University majoring in Political Science with minors in History and English. Following her undergraduate degree, Lauren plans to obtain her Juris Doctorate and pursue a career in foreign diplomacy. Lauren currently serves as the spokesperson and ambassador for Louisiana's Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, the Louisiana March of Dimes, Louisiana Cares for Children and the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. Lauren has been actively involved in many organizations at Louisiana Tech University, as well as throughout the state. She promotes her platform Be a S.T.A.R. everywhere she travels encouraging students of all ages to realize their interests and devote time volunteering and giving of themselves for others.
