UPDATE: Teenage girl attacked and robbed in South Monroe

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - UPDATE: We now have a description of the robber who attacked a 14-year-old girl in a South Monroe gas station parking lot on Wednesday night.

Monroe Police say a black male wearing camo pants a and scream style mask attacked that girl.

PREVIOUS STORY: A 14-year-old girl was attacked and robbed in a gas station parking lot on Wednesday night, the girl's grandmother told KNOE 8 News.

It happened at about 9 P.M. at the Now Save store, in the 3100 block of Jackson Street.

The girl's grandmother tells KNOE 8 News that her granddaughter was beaten up and her purse was stolen.

The teen was taken to a local hospital.  Police are still at the scene.
