RAYVILLE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A Richland Parish man is dead and the sheriff's office believes the bad weather is to blame.
Sheriff Lee Harrell confirms a tree fell onto a mobile home along Louisiana Highway 143. The trailer is about a mile west of the Richland-West Carroll Parish line.
Harrell says a tree was knocked down by the wind and killed 53-year-old Alan Sullivan. Other relatives were in the home at the time, according to the sheriff. However, no one else was injured.
Harrell believes the cause was from a strong gust of wind, but says a tornado like path was found leading up to the tree. The National Weather Service did not confirmed a tornado in Richland Parish during the Christmas storm.
