ST. FRANCISVILLE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - In West Feliciana Parish, the School Board has signed a contract with a company that provides online tutoring and other services designed to keep students from dropping out of school.
School officials, in signing the one-year contract with the company, American Academy LLC (doing business as NoDropouts) said the state Minimum Foundation Program will fund the courses at no cost to the parish or students.
The courses will be offered to students 17 to 21 years old, including those who dropped out of high school but were close to graduating. The program is designed primarily to give students added opportunities to earn a traditional high school diploma.
