MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Late Tuesday night, Monroe Police Detectives arrested Arise Johnson for Illegal Carrying of Weapons in connection with the fatal shooting of Johnny Cassey.
Johnson is a 36 year old black male having a last known address in Monroe. The matter remains under investigation at this time.

MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - One man is dead tonight and two other people are being questioned in the wake what appears to be an attempted robbery and shooting.
Police are saying that 30-year-old Johnny Cassey attempted to rob two people inside an apartment building in the 100 block of Arlington in East Monroe.
According to police, one of the people Cassey was trying to rob then shot him.
Cassey was transported to a local hospital after the incident, but died from his wound.
