MONROE, La (KNOE 8 News) - Basketball was once a frequent sight within the Monroe Civic Center Arena but for the past couple of years has become a less common occurrence. That all ends this month with the announcement of the "Monroe City Basketball Tournament," which will be held December 13-15. Three local area high schools will take part, including: Richwood, Carroll, and Ouachita.
Team's will enjoying competing on the brand new, 40,000 dollar floor currently being installed for this week's competition. All funds raised will be split 50/50 with the schools that sell tickets through their box office and the winner of the tournament will be decided Saturday night at the conclusion of the finals round.
