MONROE, La (KNOE 8 News) - Carter Elementary students took a field trip to the Monroe Public Safety Building to learn about fire safety. They walked in the be introduced to several puppet characters and two robots that interacted with them and even sprayed them with water.
The goal is the teach fire safety in an appealing way that will hold the attention of the young students for the duration of the lesson. Fire fighters incorporated numerous ways for students to participate in demonstrations such as how to call 9-1-1 and the proper way to "stop, drop, and roll."
The Monroe Fire Department hopes continue this performance for the next few weeks.
