MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A Monroe City School Board member remains in the hot seat over a voicemail message.

A special meeting was called surrounding Board Member Vickie Krutzer, scheduled for Monday at 4 p.m. The agenda items involving the school leader has been postponed.

In a vote 3 to 1, the board will decided to postpone taking actions against the school board member over a voicemail containing a racial slur. Krutzer did not utter the slur, someone else used the word. Only Krutzer voted against postponing the meeting.

"I think in the spirit of cooperation on both sides, we should have gone forward today or cancel the meeting, why'd we all come up here?" said Krutzer.

Board member Rodney McFarland says the board voted to postpone the agenda items because three members (Vickie Dayton, Glynn Ludley and Clarence Sharp) didn't show up. "Well we had three board members absent today and they need to weigh in on the situation here to make sure everything is fair and on board," said McFarland.

The agenda items will be discussed at the board regularly schedule meeting on Dec. 18.
