Oak Grove cancels caroling at the courthouse

Posted: Updated:

OAK GROVE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Due to predicted inclement weather predicted for Saturday, the West Carroll Chamber of Commerce has announced it will be canceling its planned Christmas Caroling on the steps of the Courthouse slated for this weekend.

"It is with much regret that we will have to cancel this event." Chamber President H. Doug Ainsworth said. "This is something I was really looking forward to myself, however with the ever changing weather conditions and the predictions that we have seen for this weekend we feel it would be best to make the decision early so the people involved can make other plans during this busy time of the year."

The caroling event was set to be the final event in what has been a very successful Holiday Season schedule hosted by the W.C. Chamber and many other organizations in the community that included the Second Annual ULM Christmas Concert at the theatre, Christmas Boutique at the Lingo Centre, the Jaycees Christmas Parade and two Christmas movies at the Fiske Theatre.

The chamber's next big event will be the Third Annual North Louisiana Sweet Potato Festival slated for April 4-6, 2013.
