House fire in River Oaks subdivision of Monroe

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Fire crews are working on a house fire in the River Oaks subdivision of Monroe.

The call came in around 8:30am Monday and several trucks have responded to the 3100 block of River Oaks Drive. Our reporter on the scene says one side of the home is completely engulfed.

The family believes that the fire started in their garage. Around 8:30am one member of the family tried to open the door to the garage from inside the house and the door knob was too hot. According to the owner, everyone made it out safely.
