Tax changes in 2013 the subject of local workshop

MONROE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - Beginning in 2013, changes are coming with federal income taxes and healthcare that will dramatically impact businesses and their employees.

The sunrise of Obama Care and the sunsetting of the Bush tax breaks are setting the stage for a double whammy for businesses and individuals. Individuals and businesses who want to learn more about how these changes may impact their business can do so at a workshop hosted by the Monroe Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, December 11 at the Monroe Civic Center.

The event, which begins at 11:00 a. m. on Tuesday and runs until 2:00 p.m. will feature William "Bill" Harrison, CPA, PFS, Partner with Heard, McElroy and Vestal, CPAs; John L. Luffey, Jr., Tax Attorney and; Thomas "Tommy" Hodge, who will address 2012 Income Tax Planning and what to consider in 2013. In addition, Mr. Louis Breamer, President and CEO for St. Francis Medical Center will provide an update on changes in healthcare as Obama Care is implemented. 

A boxed lunch will be provided for attendees.
