FARMERVILLE, La., (KNOE 8 News) - In May 2012, the Union Parish Sheriff's Office began investigating numerous burglaries which occurred throughout the parish. During these burglaries numerous firearms, computers, along with men's and women's jewelry were taken. Detectives with the Union Parish Sheriff's Office, along with investigators Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office, went to an address in Farmerville and spoke to Eric McGuire 43, of Farmerville, who had been developed as a suspect in a burglary in Ouachita Parish. While at the residence, investigators located numerous items believed to have been taken in burglaries in Union and Ouachita Parishes.
McGuire was subsequently arrested transported to the Union Parish Sheriff's Office an interviewed. During the interview, McGuire provided information implicating himself to several burglaries in Union and Ouachita Parishes. McGuire provided information to his involvement in burglaries in Lincoln and Morehouse Parishes, the town of Oak Grove, La., located in West Carroll Parish and Union County Arkansas.
McGuire has been charged with Illegal Possession of Stolen Things, Aggravated Burglary (2cts.), and Simple Burglary (2 cts.)
Subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of Jacob Jones, 30, of Downsville, La. who has been linked to several burglaries in Union and Ouachita Parishes. Jones has been charged with Aggravated Burglary (2cts.) and Simple Burglary (2 cts.) in Union Parish. Jones also has a felony warrant out of Ouachita Parish
Additional charges may be forthcoming not only in Union, but numerous other jurisdictions, as the investigation in continuing.
Investigators have recovered numerous items including jewelry, firearms, electronics, and gaming equipment in Louisiana and Arkansas.
